Mac N Cheese tip
Kinda a random thing here. :) I use the cheap boxes of Mac N Cheese, you know the no name kinda you can get 3/$1. Well I've been playing around with it a bit and have a few tips for making it so it actually comes out pretty decent. I always use the microwave method of cooking, I just find it easier. I follow the directions on the box for microwaving the noodles with water, which in this case meant adding 1 3/4 cups hot water to the noodles, and microwaving 9 minutes, stirring every three. Next step I added: Rinse and drain the noodles. Next step I altered from package directions: I don't add any butter or anything, and I double the milk. I also mix the cheese powder and the milk before pouring over the noodles. Last step, after adding the sauce to the noodles, I microwave for 2 more minutes to help the sauce thicken. It will be a bit more soupy than usual, but I've found my family prefers its taste, and leftovers keep much better this way. Before I played around with it and did this, we'd eaet half of it and throw away the other half because the leftovers were icky. So hope this helps anyone!
