While I know the poor skills answer to my question would be to just buy a mattress off craigslist, I just…. can’t. The idea of it creeps me out from a bug standpoint. Particularly with the resurgence of bed bugs and knowing what mattresses can harbor.
What I could use is information and suggestions on mattress purchasing. I took the community’s suggestion when I moved and off loaded all of my furniture in my last city, so now I’m starting to rebuild (I needed a new mattress any way, so no real loss in this department).
I started looking around today and had a bit of sticker shock realizing how much new mattresses and box springs are. Even the cheap ones.
I may try Big Lots tomorrow. Costco opens here in Madison, WI this week, so maybe later this week I’ll check them out too (I have a membership).
