maybe i haven’t been looking in the right place.

question: When i live on the west coast, i used cocoa bean mulch in my flower beds. I'd had never seen it before then and now that i've moved back to Kansas, i can't find it... is there a reason for this? I've heard it can be poisonous to dogs, but would there be a geographical/climate-type reason for it not being available here? I don't really have serious mulching needs or anything, i'm just curious.
