Mini cakes cheap
I have found I like Betty Crocker Warm Delight Minis. They give me a bit of warm gooey chocolate goodness fast, (about 2 mins) you just add water. The portion control aspect also works well with trying to control my weight (150 cals). But they cost a fortune. A double pack costs about $2.50 that’s pretty pricey I went to my local restaurant supply house and bought a box of water only bulk chocolate cake mix for $11. Out of that I can get 64 mini cakes a this way they cost 19 cents each rather than $1.25, A savings of $69. Even if I add a spoon of jam, a few nuts, a crushed candy cane, a chocolate kiss, its still about a quarter. I can also make regular cupcakes, loaf cake, or a regular double round layer cake. To make a mini, Mix ¼ cup cake mix and 1table + 1 teaspoon water. Spray a microwave safe container (a mug, a custard cup, or ramekin ) with Pam and pour the mix in to it, microwave for 30 seconds. I liked it so much I bought a box of gold cake mix also. Here are some of the combos I like. Chocolate with caramel sauce, gold with a slice of peach or pineapple chunk and brown sugar, chocolate with raspberry jam, gold with black cherry jelly, chocolate with a dab of peanut butter, gold with a bit of apple pie spice, gold with a bit of lemon curd and a few toasted almonds. Chocolate with any of the flavored Hershey's kisses. Its cheap its easy to make and customize, and used in moderation not too bad for you.
