Monday July 21st, first fruits for Valley of Heart’s Delight

We are nearly latitude 38 here in San Jose, CA.... And Monday I had my first tomatoes to pick (we were out of town and stuff across the weekend or I suspect I would have not waited until they were soft ripe) For "80 day" tomatoes they took 111 days (31 overdue, if we are generous and use the purchase date as the start. I probably had them in the house a month before I put them out for transplant shock to mess with the math). Anyhow, it tells you something about the climate change we were hit with this year.

As the fruit just turns light green, I am going by feel. They are all rock hard. It's a HUGE plant.
