Money Scam by Mail
I just received a letter from Group Forum American Clearing House in the mail and it's a big money scam. Basically they sent me a letter saying that I won the British lottery and included a check for $4,800 and want me to contact the person listed on the letter to get my Tax ID number, required to release these funds. They also state that the money is intended for me to be able to pay "non-residence tax". After a quick google search I learned that this is a scam. Big time. Basically they want me to deposit the check and then turn around and give them the money from my account. In the end the check won't clear and I will be out $4,800. This e-mail has 2 purposes- to warn all of you not to get involved with this and to ask who I should report this type of thing to. I think things like this are so wrong and would love to see at least one of them stopped- any ideas on who to contact would be great!
