More cheap hair stuff…

More cheap hair stuff…

The post from the poor_skiller looking for a way to get haircuts cheaply made me realize I should post this... Last week, I got a very expensive hair color treatment at a local Aveda salon done FOR FREE. I ran into one of the colorists whom I know, and she said she had an apprentice colorist who needed a hair model to pass his certification. I went in and got a two-tone single process -- which would have cost me at least $75 normally -- done for free. The guy was a licensed stylist, just in training to get on the color floor. And the colorist whom I knew, supervised the whole thing. It may be worth it to contact some of the salons in your area, especially the ones run by Aveda, Toni&Guy, etc., to see if they need hair models or people to work with apprentices. My yoga teacher works with someone at Toni&Guy in this way and hasn't paid for a haircut or color for something like three years. I am 100% happy with my color, I got a great deal, and I helped out a talented colorist on his career path...that's a trifecta in my book.
