I have a couple perennial gardens I'm working on this year, and need to do something to control the weeks that seem to be cropping up. I want to put down a mulch to supress them, but I'm not sure what kind to get. I need something that will allow my bulbs and flowers (daisies, coneflowers, peonies) to grow through, but kill/cover the ugly dandies and crabgrass.
I've been looking at the cocoa bean mulch. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will it work? If not, what should I look at?
