So, I noticed when I looked closer at my sugar snap pea trellis for inspection, that a very strange thing was happening. The flowers were mutating into colors other than the normal white. And I don’t mean slight differences, these stick out like a sore thumb…or a pretty flower, rather.
I could see how people could propagate from seeds of selected colored sugar snap pea plants for growing sweet peas, which are grown purely for their showy flowers.
This is the first year I’ve ever seen pea flowers any other color than white. And yes, they are sugar snap peas for sure.
