My boyfriend decorates like a video game nerd…Which he is :P

Ok so I need some suggestions from you guys, I know I can't be the only one who's faced this challenge... My boyfriend has lived on his own for the last ten years and has, erm, questionable decorating tastes. He asked me to move in, and I did, but we have very different decorating styles. For instance, I am a girl with style, and he is an overgrown child lol I love him, I do, but the dear sucks at decorating :P 1) He uses a kitchen table he got for free as a computer desk. It's uber ghetto. I am in the process of getting him a desk, but I wonder if he will just use the table anyways. Thoughts? 2) He has posters EVERYWHERE in the bedroom. Not even nice ones, either. Luckily, his cat seems to be on my side and has unknowingly helped me out by randomly choosing posters to destroy. Any suggestions on ways I can get him to take them down? I don't mind if he keeps some of them, like the big Scarface one doesn't bother me, it's the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw ones I don't care for. Like, who wants body parts on their bedroom walls? Honestly?! xD I was going to compromise and put them in the second bedroom (where my computer and tv are) but we're also going to be using that room for when my nephew/his daughter visit on the weekends, so the posters aren't exactly suitable for kids. Gah! I don't know what to do! I want the apartment to look nice, but I know he's somewhat attached to the posters. Help help help!
