I had some problems with my dogs getting into the garden, and so I lost a bunch of my squash, ALL of my okra, and all but one of my jet star tomatoes. :C Everything that is left in the main bed: 1 Cherry tomato (trying to overtake the whole garden), 1 Eggplant, 8 Jalapenos, 4 Dixie Squash, 1 Jet Star Tomato. Mammoth Sunflowers are doing great (very front), and the Marigolds are so-so. Herbs are spectacular. :)
My first female blossom opened on a squash plant! Unfortunately there were no males open to pollinate her. :C But no worries, there are many, MANY more to come:
These buds are on the largest plant. The other three have just as many! :)
Here is my first eggplant! This is the first time I've actually seen an eggplant growing on a plant. :P How do I know when it is ready to pick?
There are two more open flowers on the plant, and many more buds! :)
My Thai Basil, after a very dismal start, has come back with a vengeance! It's flowering and seeding and just so so pretty! It smells just like black licorice!
Now this little guy... is not very happy. It's a Moon Flower (Ipomoea Alba). I don't know if it's the soil or if the seeds I got were bad (out of the five I planted this is the only one that came up). The leaves are sorta deformed looking, and the new growth is slooowly coming out, also sorta deformed looking. Any ideas, anyone? I have five more seeds that I soaked and planted, just waiting to see if they will come up or not.
Thanks for taking a look! :)
