Ok, I took some pictures of my gardens before I left for Ottawa. I left of August 8th and got back on August 11th. I took these pictures the day before I left. I had Pepper and Ginger helping me pick the beans in the vegetable garden. They weren’t much help, more a hindrance, but what can you do, ha ha ha. This was the second picking of beans, and I got four bowls full. Among these pictures is the first bowl full I picked. It took quite a while as it is a long row. I canned fourteen pints of beans, gave a bag full away, and took another bag full down to my daughter and son-in-law in Ottawa. The flowers are doing well in the gardens.
When I got back, I had to have a peak in the gardens to see new developements. I will do another post today to show you the changes a week can make. I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture of the peas and cukes in the other garden. Now that garden is a jungle of dill and also the spaghetti squash seedlings I dug out of compost pile are huge now. The vines are growing in all directions, and I have never seen such large squash. Also, I wanted Doug to keep an eye on the cucumbers and pick any that got large, but he never thought of it. Photos will be in the next journal.
Anyway, here are some pictures to give you an idea of the garden flowers and vegetables.
The next journal will show a dramatic difference. There are lots of photos here so dial-up users beware.
