Many large photos of my poorly planned, overgrown, yet lovely
My herbs are in a brick planter by my front door:

My herbs:

The purple basil is trying to take over the neighborhood, and I can’t say that I really mind:

This is what used to be “Tricolor Sage” with a purple aura between the white and green. Now it’s just Bicolor Sage. Maybe it needed weaker soil/less water/more sun to maintain the variation.

Oregano flowers are so pretty and dainty!

I adore the look of the Variegated Oregano, but sadly, it was planted too far back and amid faster-growing herbs, so it just dilly-dallies in a stunted form behind the bigger purple basil where it cannot get sufficient sun:
I haven’t been cooking at all lately, so the herbs are just for show. Plus, they’re in rich soil with only part sun and plenty of water, so they probably taste pretty weak, anyway. But I love doting on them, searching for tiny caterpillars under their leaves and making new plants from cuttings. Sometime soon I’ll transplant those that are being choked out by the basil and mint to new homes.
