My poor Jade plant
I posted a while back about how I thought my Jade had mealybugs, and I'd refer to that entry, but I've gone back many pages and can't find it! Apologies to anyone who resents seeing this twice. Anyway, upon further investigation, I think these aren't mealybugs but aphids. They're tiny little black bugs that don't seem to be making little webs or anything like that. They cluster near new growth and on the undersides of leaves. I started spraying the Jade with a soapy water mix-today was day 3-and I haven't seen any signs of improvement. Furthermore, the plant looks kind of bruised, if that makes sense-it has some discolored black spots. Some of the leaves are knocking off very easily. I have been keeping the plant outside as the weather has been so pretty. I'm in North Georgia, zone 7B. Should I keep going with the soapy spray? Also, would jades be okay planted outside (if I planted a leaf) in humid Georgia?
