Mystery Ground Cover (weed?)

Mystery Ground Cover (weed?)

My sad little azalea that I wrote about last month has blossomed. It has two nice little lavendar flowers. I bought some sulfur so maybe that will help it to recover into a beauty. Hope so anyway. I can't get a current picture because my camera has gone to the Kentucky Derby with but here's one from a couple of weeks ago. You can just see the beginnings of the blossoms. I'm amazed at how much better it looks than when I first found it.

Does anyone know what this is? I suspect it's a weed since it's such a hearty grower. I kinda like it so haven't been too aggressive about cutting it back but it is in my garden. What do you think? Should I leave it be or will it take over and strangle my plants?
