Hello!
I’m a long time member, occasional poster, but avid reader of this community!
I get all my savvy thrifty skills from you folks! For that, I thank you!
I need advice concerning my sprint phone bill.
1st off, I have no contract with them.
MY current plan consists of:
1000 min for $40/month
Internet $15.00/month
Roadside service $4.00/month
with free Sprint to sprint
with free Unlimited text messaging.
Nights and weekends starting at 8pm.
After taxes and my employee discount I pay $65.00/month.
This is pretty cheap as compared to when I was a first time customer of Sprint I used to pay 115/month! (Almost 5 years ago)
So i’m pretty proud of myself that I’ve been able to cut my phone bill in half!
So recently I called in to customer service regarding my account.
The Customer Service Agent offered me this plan.
*Everying Message Plan 49.99
Includes:
450 minutes
Plus additional 500 minutes free for the next 2 years
= 950 min (50 min less than what I have right now)
free unlimited text/picture mail/video mail
free sprint to sprint
Night and weekends starting at 7:00pm
They even offered me FREE Internet service.
So all that plus my roadside service $4/month (I travel 8 hours to go home from college during the holidays so I find this service beneficial)
I’m assuming after taxes and my discount I will be paying about 50-52 dollars/ month.
Almost saving me $100 – $180 extra per year.
Does this sound too good to be true? Should I jump on this offer???
MY only dispute that I have is that I was told I don’t have to extend my contract but the 2nd agent said I do have to get back on contract. Right now on the sprint website it says that if you’re already a sprint customer you do not need to extend your contract. Doesn’t say you have to go back on contract.
The 2nd agent I talked to said that those additional 500 minutes for 2 years means I’ll be on contract.
But besides that dispute, do you think this is a good deal coming from sprint???
