Need help with houseplants
I am in need of intelligent houseplant advice. (More intelligent than me, anyway, which can't be hard.) One - I have a a mother-in-law's tongue, and I like it where it's at, at its current height. What's the best method to stop it getting too tall? I'm worried that pruning will leave the leaves looking.. weird. Should I just remove the leaves that become too tall and let the smaller ones backfill, then repeat? Two - I'm looking for a "thrives on neglect, doesn't get too big" plant. I tend to remember to water every other week (except my jade and my mother-in-law's tongue - they get monthly), and I want something that's not too big (not too bushy, not too tall, not too dangling like ivy). Ideally something that will remain attractive and compact in a small space on the top shelf of a corner cabinet I have. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
