First poooost :)
I just recently redid my bedroom after about 10 years. It’s about 90% complete so I finally took photos to show people in my personal LJ and I decided to share here as well.
Yet to come is another set of drapes (to layer with the white ones you’ll see), more plants, and a new comforter. (A new pillow for my Papasan chair to match would be pretty nice too.)

My bed, from my door.

Longer shot. Here you can see the snake tank.

Snake tank and stuff to the right of it. (More detail coming shortly.)

Turning a bit. The door is my closet.

To the right of the closet: my pirate shelf with hanging necklaces and things, and the rabbit’s cage.

Close up. On the left is a marlin mask I made based on Ralph Steadman’s Curse of Lono artwork.

Blurry, BAH. Anywho that’s the door to the hallway (closed to show off the poster), and the start of my shelves.

Standing by the closet: My shelves, my gecko tank, and my cool Papasan chair.

Close up: Leis on the wall, jewelry tree, shoes, perfumes, current reads, Hunter S. Thompson book collection, magazines, white rabbit… (Oh, and my little Day of the Dead shrine on the wall-mounted shelf.)

Same middle, plus more shoes. Gecko-care water bottles.

The corner: Gecko tank, ink splatter painting, vase that needs to be filled with greenery, Jimmy Buffett parrot, and my Papasan chair (with my IKEA “Humlan” bee that is SO perfectly made to cuddle). As to WTF is hanging above the chair: you’ll see in a minute!

Close up of my awesome Knappa lamp and shelving: Labbit toy, jar of jellybeans, Ciao Ciao, fake plant, inVENTSville rabbit, Deadly Night Shade jar.

My favorite DVDs. The strip on the left is a magnetic strip with nothing on it but a few magnets and an obnoxious bottle opener.

Close up on my fabulous little shelf! Content is pretty self-explanatory. (What you can’t see are sunglasses and jewelry in the drawers.)

That fish was my first pet, Krinklebein. Yes, he’s real. My parents had him taxedermied for me due to his Epic Size. (He was 11 years old, almost a foot long.) The pictures in the frame are three art production postcards from Finding Nemo.

Close up of the books on the wall-mounted shelf over the gecko tank: Bottle with flowers, more Pixar art postcards, and books. Warhol, Bret Easton Ellis, and my Christopher Moore collection.

Speaking of Christopher Moore…. this is the bat hanging over my chair. His name is Roberto. He no like the light. (He’s a fruit bat in a few of Christopher Moore’s books. I bought a stuffed bat and doll sunglasses. Now I have a Roberto.)

One last shot of my awesome lamp and my bed. (Note the little stuffed Cthulhu peeking out from the corner!)
I never realized how OVERCLUTTERED my room really looked before. Looking back at the before photo I actually said “HOLY CRAP THAT’S A LOT OF CRAP.” It feels great to have cleaned out as much as I did. My room feels so much more OPEN and AIRY and BRIGHT and MATURE.
I’m heart my room :)
