First the sweet potatoes I’ve been talking about for two days now:
This is it the entire harvest from 25 plants. I knew it was going to be bad when I started digging them up. The soil they were in was very heavy, compacted clay. I was hoping that the peat moss I dug in at planting and the compost I placed on top as they grew would make a difference. Next year I plant them in a double dug bed with at least 4 inches of compost dug in. Deck of cards for comparison.
The eggplants and peppers where great this year. I cook, frozen and canned a full years worth of hot and sweet peppers and eggplant.
You can just make out some sliced, dipped in egg and baked with little oil eggplant upr to, I then harvested enough, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes and basil for ratatouli for dinner
. I love the look of this fava bean in flower.
peas are also loaded with flowers, fingers and toes crossed.
