Ordering prescription contacts through websites
Drugstore.com is having a great deal on the contacts that I wear. I'm in desperate need of contacts, but my prescription expired last month, and I can't afford to visit the optometrist right now. I noticed on the website that it says, "Will ship once prescription has been verified." Does this basically mean that I have to have an active prescription to order contacts even though I have my specifications? If this is the case, are there any websites out there that will sell contacts without an active prescription? If not, is calling the pharmacy and having them renew the prescription ever an option or would I be better off just not wasting the energy on trying to do that? Thank you so much in advance. You can skip this next part if you like. As an irrelevant aside: This community has aided me tremendously in my awkward transition from consumer whore to thrifty mildly responsible coming-of-age young adult. I really appreciate everyone who contributes, asks questions, and generally keeps this community active. And, no, this is not ass-kissery. Ass-kissery is something I Do Not Do Ever. I am just immensely grateful and I wanted to extend that gratitude toward whoever wants to hear it. So, yes, thank you! EDIT: Thank you for all of your responses! I'm gonna try to order them anyway!
