Yesterday I bought some Cuban oregano at a local farm market. They were keeping it outside, so I figured it would be okay to plant it outside in my garden (and did so, promptly). Today one of my co-workers told me that it's probably still too cold out for it. I live in Victoria, British Columbia, which is not exactly the frozen north (I don't know what zone it is... sorry, I don't know my zones), but if it is too cold, should I be digging the little plants up again and keeping them inside? They haven't died overnight or anything, so I'm tempted to just leave them outside and see what happens. Is this a terrible idea?
