OSAP?

OSAP?

okay, so, i've been contacted by a collections office and after following all the tips i've found here (about asking for verification of the debt) i've come across some interesting things... if the representative is trying to refuse to send proof of a debt, should i be concerned? if i am waiting for proof before making a payment (even if waiting will have the potential to give a black mark on my credit rating) will that be problematic? can they ding my rating because i wanted proof before making a payment? (and even if i said so on the call to the rep?) i've seen too many stories (even here) about people being suckered into claiming an un-provable debt that i'm covering my ass... i was like "i'm not disputing that i have a debt with OSAP, but i want paperwork attesting to it first just to be 100% sure." (the company was not the NSLSC==OSAP) do collections agencies in general dislike people asking for these kinds of documents? depending on the agency, will they make my future dealings with them difficult because of this? (are they allowed to?) yeah, i did read the other posts, but they're more about the first contact... i'm more curious about the continued contact. (*edited for clarity*)
