Grocery epiphany: Ethnic markets

So I noticed that ethnic markets are fabulous. Some things (coffee, produce) can be more expensive than a supermarket, but simple things like cooking oil and dry goods are a usually good deal.
also, dried beans! sometimes i can’t even find them in chain grocery stores.

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone knew what this plant was.

this photo was taken in Piedmont, NY, on the Hudson River (you can see part of the Tappan Zee Bridge in the background). I’m guessing its zone 6, maybe some weird microclimate because it’s right on the river
