A Question for The British Gardeners Amongst Us…

What’s the story on a place called Leonardslee Gardens in Lower Beeding, West Sussex? I’ve read that it’s supposed to be one of the most famous collections of rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias in England but it’s been sold recently and is due to be closed to the public on June 30th.

Bland Oregano

Is fresh oregano supposed to be pretty much tasteless? I started some from seed a few years back, and now I have a huge, leafy oregano bush. It was probably your basic generic ‘greek oregano,’ but I forget! Anyways, I’ve tried adding tons of the stuff to marinara and it adds nothing! Do I need [...]

Question about rooting tree-form Geraniums

Hi, I have some 3 year old Geraniums that just this winter started going into the tree form. Meet our $4 Mr. Lincoln!

Mr. Lincoln This rose was an unexpected success, but goes to show that even the $4 roses-in-a-plastic-bag at Lowe’s can give great results in the first year. This is a giant closeup of the flower for a reason – the leaves are still pretty chewed up from aphids, caterpillars, and godonlyknowswhatelse. I was late getting [...]
