Patience is the answer

Patience is the answer

Right, I put in the gladiola corms today. From what I can gather, I should be able to keep them in the ground, but I did read that you can propagate them over the winter. I will save that decision until later. I think I will hold off on putting in my tomato plants another week or so. It is still quite chilly in Christchurch, and I don't want to get surprised by another late frost. I will put in the lettuces though, since the nice people at the nursery told me it was a good time to do so. I am also going off of what my in laws are doing with their garden at the moment, eventhough they are in a better climate than Christchurch is in. The sugar snap pea and zucchini seeds are germinating nicely. I have them in peat pots, so I don't have to transplant them when they are old enough. The peppers and tomatoes are not doing so well, but I think some of it is that I am a bit impatient. And gardening is about patience. I have to keep telling myself this.
