Some people like them, though, so I thought I'd share a few pics.
Stepdad planted this tame persimmon tree in Spring '08. It's about six feet tall now. Last year he got three or four persimmons from it. He'll get about a dozen this year. For those who don't know, tame persimmons are larger than wild persimmons that only get about golf ball size.
As you can see from the photos, these are getting a nice orange color. The darker the color, the closer to ripe they are. They're also softening up nicely.
Earlier in the year, the tree had over 30 small persimmons on it. Stepdad thinned them out considerably and the tree shed some on its own until there were few enough that the tree could produce viable fruit.
