This is our pineapple lilly, looks like something from outer space doesn,t it. It has buds on the side and i think the flowers will be white. We haven,t been out in the garden much lately as it is nearly always raining, but most of the garden is looking quite lush. The double petunis,s aren,t doing too well and the dalia,s don,t like it much.
A woman in Exeter was bitten by one of those False Widow spiders that are now residing in our gardens here. I saw one about two weeks ago on our daylillys and believe me, iwasn,t going to mess around with it. Just as well really as it bit her on her thumb, her hand and arm swelled and her thumb went black. She also had trouble breathing and had to go to the hospital. I am glad to say she is ok, and speaking about it on the news. The natural museum want her to capture one if she can as they would like a specimen, i would say come and catch it yourself, lol.I am extremely careful when dead heading the flowers now, even when hanging out the washing. I hope they don,t come indoors or i will have to have the place fumigated. Our house spiders can be big and scary enough but that would be the limit
