We've been in this house for four springs now, and I've never seen this plant bloom before. I didn't even know it was a flower. I noticed it last year, and assumed it was a weed or a tree, but never got around to pulling it (I often leave weeds just to see what they end up looking like). I saw it again this spring, but never got around to weeding at all. Today, was my first chance to weed, and when I got to this bed, I discovered the plant had little pinkish purple flowers. I've never seen this plant before at all, let alone in my yard, so I ask you, what is it? It's very small, about four or five inches high. The flowers are tiny. You can see lily of the valley leaves next to it, and they're not full size yet.
