I just joined this community because my husband and I just purchased our first house and it has a third of an acre for a yard! At one point, it was clearly loved and manicured, but has since become overgrown. Which leads me to my problem: there are several plants growing that I can’t decide if they are huge overgrown weeds or deliberately planted. I would love some help IDing them.
I am in a suburb of Denver, Colorado.
This is the first. This is everywhere, particularly in very warm, sunny areas (there is a bed filled with lava rock where it grows predominantly). The flowers (berries?) range from the orange end, like this one, to a very dark red. Weed or perennial (as I don’t think they planted anything in the last year)?
And just for kicks, our large, lovely yard.
