I live in New Orleans, zone 9. This comes up as a perennial in my yard. My neighbor said it’s called “chocolate.” I’ve looked and looked and can’t figure out what it really is. I find it growing under my large camelia, mostly shaded, though it does ok in partial sun too. I think it smells like patchouli when it gets wet. These are pictures of it blooming in late summer last year. Anyone know what this is?
