Plant ID Needed Please!

I live in England, and my MIL has just given me a rooted cutting… well it seems to be tuberous in nature actually.

It’s a rather tall plant, with beautiful white, trumpet-shaped flowers, and the pollen in the middle is on a longish, very pale purple stalk.

It’s utterly gorgeous and I’ve been advised to cut it back for the winter when it stops flowering (it still has buds on it) but I’m really curious to know what it is!

I’m sorry I don’t have a photo right now, but I’m soaking the roots prior to planting it out. I can tell you that it’s not a vine of any kind, and the flowers are much smaller than the flowers on my Morning Glories, even though the shape is quite similar.

I’m thinking Calendula, but actually have no idea why I pulled that thought out of the air!
