A beach primrose! I think. It’s much prettier than the pink ones I see growing everywhere else.

What the heck is this flower? Is this a St. Augustine grass flower?

I believe these last two pictures are of purslane which has been growing like crazy around here as of late. It doesn’t seem affected at all by the drought conditions we’ve been having here–on the contrary, this is some of the healthiest stuff I’ve seen. Yes, I’ve tried eating a little bit of it. (the one with the bigger, fleshy leaves, on the left) It doesn’t really taste like much of anything, and it’s loaded with delicious, slimy mucilage. I think it would thicken a gumbo nicely if I couldn’t find any okra or sassafras powder.
Okay, so what are these three different plants? The middle one looks like a more upright version of the one on the left, and the one on the right has much smaller leaves.
