Yesterday was the plant sale at USF's Botanical Garden, which is one of the two high holy days of Tampa gardening. My best girlfriend Cookie, and I always go. We got there at 9am, with my big garden wagon and we met with a friend from work, and another old garden buddy. The four of us filled that cart to overflowing with treasure, and had to hand port the last of it out. I got a Fringe Tree (Grancy Greybeard, not your northern fringe tree), which is what I went for; a Simpson's Stopper, which is a very fragrant white blooming native; a stunning three colored Cordyline (Hawaian ti plant); and a beautiful little Farkleberry in full bloom. Well, I got more than that, like a great little Harmony's Very Merry Begonia, and an Orange Berry, but those are the big, fancy ones. That afternoon and today, Bug and I spent a good long time digging and planting.
