i think i neglected to water my cucumber seedlings yesterday because when i got home today, 24 hrs later, they were all completely wilted and dead looking. i’d been nursing these seedlings since march, so i was pretty devastated. but with a lot of water, kebab sticks for propping, and gentle coaxing i think i’ve revived all but two. are there any other methods (like special fertilizers?) to return these plants to healthy shape?
in other news, the weather is seriously warming up! i’m so happy, and SO excited about my garden! i was originally planning a container garden, since all I have is a deck, but i’m living with my parents this summer and they have a huge backyard. already my dad as reloacated some of our red-currant bush, so that it’ll grow up a wall. also, our wild strawberries and chives have spread like mad. i’m not sure how i feel about this, as they’ve totally jumped out of the vegetable patch and invaded the grass. what are safe ways to stem the spread and possibly reduce the amount of strawberries/chives?
thanks so much!
