Hellooooo? Is it safe for me to come outside and play again? It’s getting awful hot, here in the doghouse. Hahaha! I do have a couple of dilemmas that I need your advice for:
The two, burlap planting sacks I made and planted a month ago, are only doing so-so. I waited too long to plant the transplants, and only three have survived and are growing well. I am not even sure what they will be once they reach maturity, so I am in for a surprise. I believe they will come up as Blue Daisies.
I had hopes of establishing an all blues perennial flower garden in that location, and had also ordered pincushion flowers, blue flax, and I don’t remember what else.
So, I was wondering, if I was to reorder the same pants, would it be too late to plant them ahead for flowering next Spring? I mean they are perennials, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Right? Wrong? Help!
The other pressing concern here at Guavmom Corners, is that my tomatoes are falling over, without supports, and I have been unable to locate any tomato cages this late in the planting season. So, I was thinking of walling them in with those green, bamboo stakes, and configuring something between the stakes out of heavy jute cord. This should work, yes? Is it likely to be strong enough, or is wire the only way to go?
Thanks!
