Hi all - I just joined this community as I'm in desperate need of help with my flowers! I've never been able to keep anything alive and usually don't even try, but my grandmother recently passed away and I was given one of her beloved petunia pots. I want so badly to keep it alive because I know how much she loved her petunias, but I'm afraid I'll do something wrong. I was told she swore by Miracle Gro, so I went out and bought a pack and watered it first thing. Then I hung it on the clothesline in the backyard where it's very sunny, as I've read petunias thrive in full sunlight. My questions: * How often should I water the plant? * What about this "pinching back" that I keep reading about online? * How often should I use the Miracle Gro? I'm sorry if I come across like an idiot - I really don't know anything about plants! Case in point (and maybe you can give me some pointers about this one too) - my fiance gave me a pretty little mini rose bush for Mother's Day about a month ago and it immediately began losing its leaves and now is just a mass of brown sticks. :( I tried using some of the Miracle Gro on it too (about three days ago), but it hasn't been long enough I suppose to see if it's working yet. I don't know if I watered it too much or too little - but I always tried to keep the soil moist. Is it beyond rescue? Thank you so much - I really appreciate it!
