I have a plumeria that's about three feet tall. It was rooted for me by a neighbor who raised plumerias (he's not my neighbor anymore so I can't ask him this!) It originally had three branches. Year before last, one branch broke off. I successfully rooted it and although it hasn't gotten much taller, it made it through last year just fine. I figured I'd have some years to wait before either plant blooms. This winter it, both plants lost their leaves, and are starting to come back now. The small plant (which came off the large plant) looks strange. The very tip is black and dead-looking. It's not soft or mushy, just black and dead. Now, one branch on the larger plant also has a black spot at the tip.. but around that black spot, the branch is sending out lots of small branches. This isn't happening on the smaller plant. It's not branching out, and it's not putting out any new leaves. Any ideas?
