I bought a house last fall. We did just enough yard stuff to get by and concentrated on the inside of the house. When spring rolled around, it was time to do the outside. I looked for poison ivy but didn't see any. I grew up on a ranch in Texas and we didn't have it. I didn't know what I was looking for exactly but didn't see anything that had leaves of 3. The problem- the leaves hadn't sprouted yet and even if they had, I was looking for a more ivy looking thing, not a scraggly tree thing...anyway, i got PI really bad (blisters and the whole nine yards). Now that the leaves are all sprouting, we have this crap EVERYWHERE (except thankfully the backyard has none!). I think the method I'm going to use is chemical. I got some brush b gone and am going to start spraying the parts where I don't care if I kill all the ivy around it (lots of english ivy and what not in our front yard and also the trees that belong to the county that our property line is beside). Then I'm going to physically remove it. I was wondering if any of you have any experience with getting rid of this crap. I know that I need to get rid of it or it will take over. At least now I know what I'm looking for and where it is so I can take precautions (long sleeve shirt, googles gloves etc).
