i’m going to be moving soon, and most moving-truck rental quotes i’ve seen online have been $450+! obviously this is because of the mileage factored in, but the prices are still shocking me.
the main reason i’m going to be needing my truck are 2 main things:
- my bed, and
- embarassingly, a 6′ tall cat tree
these were both rather pricey, extravagant purchases so i’m loathe to let go of them. when i bought them both, i was planning on having them for a long time (my cat, especially, seems to be wanting to use his cat tree for a long time).
i don’t know anyone with a truck or van i can borrow, and the last time i tried to drive with a mattress strapped to my the top of my little car, it was a near-disaster.
should i just bite the bullet and try to sell these two items? i don’t really have much else, i won’t be bringing any other kinds of furniture, just some boxes and luggage cases of clothes and books that could probably all fit in my car. is there possibly a cheaper way i could be doing all of this?
any advice would be appreciated.
