Poor Vera….

Poor Vera….

I have a large Aloe Vera plant that I inherited. It wasn’t in a good state when I got it, and it’s got worse since. I’ve uploaded a photo to show the problem:

Poor Vera....

Basically it’s growing at such an angle that it’s literally hanging out of the pot (and hence keeps getting bashed!). When I first got it I re-potted it and tried to get it to sit as straight as possible, but because the angle the roots are coming out, it hasn’t really helped at all.

Only thing I can think of is trying to just chop the end (the straight bit!) off and potting that by itself….. but I’m not sure that would work?! WOuld it be able to regrow roots?

Or does anyone else have a suggestion?

I HATE to just give up on a plant and would hate to have to just throw her on the compost heap! So would be very grateful for any suggestions of how I can help Vera out.

Guess the plant!
