Hello! I’m a new gardener and I’m hoping I can get some/an answers for problems I’m having with my Shasta daisies.
I bought the flowers about two weeks ago. They were fine for a while, I was watering them every/every other day, they got plenty of sunlight. They were hit with some harsh rain from above (which I read can be damaging), but they still seemed okay. Until two days ago, they wilted very dramatically. They look practically dead right now; the pedals are just about to fall off. :(
There seems to be some new daisies ready to take their place though.
01. I was wondering should I clip the dead daisies, and where should I clip them at?
02. My mom said something about taking the dead daisy heads/bulbs, and using them to plant more. Is that remotely possible?
03. Last but not least, I seem to have some ants visiting the flowers frequently. I’m not sure if that’s what made them turn brown and die, but should I get some sort of ant repellent??
Thank you very much in advance for the help!! :D
