problems with wachovia bank
the situation: yesterday morning around 8:30am my bank account was overdrawn 30$. i called wachovia asking them what the situation was and what i could do about it. they informed me that there was a 3$ partial check going through later that day. 2 different operators told me that if i went to the bank before 10am and deposited cash, the check would be fine and it would not overdraw my account. so i did that. went to the back the moment it opened at 9 and deposited $50. i called them and told them that my account was good and they verified that the cash was in the account and that the check would not bounce. oh wait. check my account right now and the check bounced!!! and i got charged a 31$ fee!!! my account is overdrawn again. i call and the customer service line and the woman says, "oh sorry about that. theres nothing i can do." what?! your employees told me that i wouldn't get charged if i did what they told me to. thats false information thats costing me charges and lost wages for me running around in the 95 degree heat for 2 hours. i talked to a supervisor and he acted like it was a gift that they had refunded me a overdraft fee in the past and he told me he couldn't do anything about it. then he got incredibly rude and hung up on me. i got the number to the guy above him, but he's not in right now and will be in tomorrow morning. the question: what should i do now? i'm definately closing my account - but when i told the supervisor about that it didn't phase him. he was basically like, "ok, whatever." when i talk to the head honcho guy should i tell him that i've contacted my lawyer? yes; its only 30$. but thats a tank of gas or groceries. and they GAVE ME THE WRONG INFORMATION. its not my fault! does anyone have experience with anything like this???
