We've had yet another period of WET but today is only misty so I was able to get a few things done outside. Planted mums and pansies. Amazingly enough, this is the first year I've planted pansies. No photos today because things were a muddy mess by the time I finished. I'll take some photos when things are a bit more dry. Also separated yet another day lily and planted those sent to me by someone in this comm. I can't for the life of me remember who it was so, TO WHOEVER MAILED THE DAY LILIES TO ME RECENTLY: Thank you very much! The package they were sent in got thrown away so I don't remember your name or I'd have sent my thanks much sooner. They're now happily settling in for the fall. A few pointers/tips/observations I came to today: 1) Try not to purchase day lilies in a year when the day lilies you currently have need to be separated. I have two more day lilies that definitely need to be moved and could use being separated and I've run out of places to put them because I ordered five a month or so ago. 2) Separating and moving day lilies on a muddy day makes for one filthy gardener. 3) You know you've got a moisture problem when you find mushrooms growing near the roses. 4) Never EVER kneel down with your back to a rose bush. You could loose your balance and things could end badly for both you and the rose bush. It was a close call but I managed to escape without injury.
