Putting Potted Plants into Ground for Winter

Putting Potted Plants into Ground for Winter

Hi everyone,

I swear, I feel so dumb asking all these questions. But I can’t even find out an answer to something so simple.

I live in NH region 5A

I have two plants that I want to put in the garden that have been in large pots. I want to put them in the ground so they can root.

They are:

Confederate Star Jasmine (and the vining is now huge)

Tropical Hibiscus

I read somewhere that the Star Jasmine can go in the ground and that it will die but come back in the spring.

Not sure about the Hibiscus because when I bought it I didn’t realize that it’s hardiness was in zone 7-9.
Some people have told me I shouldn’t have a problem though.

Any suggestions.
