Question

A rat ate my poinsettia plant and my chrysanthemums, but left the tomatoes, basil, oregano, cucumbers, squash, etc..Is this normal? I could care less about the mums, but I'm heavily disappointed in the loss of my poinsettias, they had just turned two years old. Has anyone else had any experience with creatures eating your flowers? It definitely wasn't a rabbit, we have problems with rats in this area, and the plants were in planters up on decorative shelving in the backyard
