Question about Rhododendron simsii/ Azalea
Hello there! I bough an beautiful Rhododendron simsii, or window Azalea as some call it, at the supermarket a couple of monts ago. It was blooming, and looked very nice. I put it in a quite sunny window, but after a short while it started to drop all of it's leaves and the flowers started to turn brown. I tried curing it with more water, hoping that was the only thing needed, but went to buy some nourishment for it, just in case. And it seemed to be case. But I forgot about the nourishment and went away over christmas. A friend of mine watered all the flowers for me, but when I got home it still looked like brown twigs, understandably. But there still are some life in the twigs, and won't snap off without a little effort. So, question is: Can I do anything to save it? I'm very novice in keeping/growing flowers, but I've showered the plant, removing most of the dead leaves, and left it to soak in my sink with a plastic bag over it to keep the moist, wich I understood was important for this kind of plant. Am I on the right track?
