Question Re: Purple Coneflower Seedlings

Question Re: Purple Coneflower Seedlings

Hi, After a lengthy attempt I have finally (if very belatedly) succeeded in getting some purple coneflower seeds to sprout. Trouble is, it's an awkward time of year to plant them here in Northern Wisconsin, as we have 18" of snow on the ground. How would folks recommend I handle these little guys? They are about 1" tall. Should I try to force them to go dormant (in the fridge for example) or should I just leave them on the light table until spring then plant as if store-bought? That would probably not be until late April or early May. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you!
