I'm container gardening this year, in Boston, MA. If you are anywhere near there, I don't need to tell you that so far it's been a wet and miserable summer - and it seems that the forecast is not great for the rest of it either. So, if you are in the area or dealing with the same weather - what do you do to fertilize your container plants? My pots are on the deck, and they've had, I'm sure, all nutrients flushed out of them by the rain. The fish/seaweed fertilizer I normally use has worked great for me, but it needs to be dissolved in water - and needless to say, I have not had to water in weeks. So, I also have no chance to fertilize. This is clearly not going to work in the long term. What's your advice? I would strongly prefer to keep my plants (herbs / lettuces) organic if at all feasible. P.S. Thanks for your responses about my lavender. I moved the plant under a roof, hope it does better.
