Reducing Allergens

Reducing Allergens

I know this isn't a typical "poor skill", but I think it applies, since I'm trying to prevent a) spending a ton of money on cleaning supplies, and b) a hotel bill for my sister. If the mods find it inappropriate, I won't be offended if it gets deleted. :) At any rate, my sister and her fiance are coming to visit me this weekend. Her fiance is horribly allergic to cats; I have a cat. He says it won't be a problem; my sister disagrees, and thinks he's just being polite. The fiance has been around my cat previously (at my parents' house on holidays), and the allergies weren't TOO bad, but he's never been in my apartment. The cat doesn't have anywhere else to stay for the weekend, and keeping him in one room isn't feasible due the the way my apartment is set up. So I'm trying to reduce the allergens as much as possible. I'm already planning on bathing the cat (I've done it before, I know what I'm getting into), vacuuming with Arm & Hammer Pet Fresh to pick up as much of the hair as possible, and keeping the windows open. I'm also washing all of the blankets and throw rugs. I have a supply of Benedryl on hand. Is there anything else I can do to keep the dander low, without buying special filters and such?
