Reliable Student Loans

Reliable Student Loans

Hi, I am about to take out a student loan. I am a sophomore in college and neither of my parents have any money or credit to lend me. However, my grandpa (with squeaky clean credit) has reluctantly agreed to cosign on a private student loan for me. I am on aid and have a subsidized federal loan (about 5,000 so far), but it accrues no interest until after a graduate. I can't really work more than 10 hours a week MAX because I'm a photo student and it's so fucking time consuming and my grades slip when I try to work much more than that. Anyways school is all payed for with grants/scholarship, so this will be for living expenses, i.e., groceries, dog food, rent, computer and photoshop, in design, etc., and unfortunately glasses because I don't have health insurance. SO, I need some advice. There are lots of shady private loans that have sweet late night infomercials but the idea of that makes me nauseous. Are any of those reliable? I was going to use Bank of America since I bank with them but they stopped offering private loans. Chase bank has something like a 5% interest rate for people with worthy credit, and honestly, credit doesn't get much better than my papa's. Can I find a better one than that? I am seriously in the dark on this and I have to do it NOW, otherwise I would consult my financial advisor..although she seems to be full of bullshit anyways. HELP PLS if you have any knowledge/experience in this area. I'm stressed, and in 3 years i don't want to have a realization that I did something really stupid.
